The Kogi State Graphic Newspaper Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Comrade Yusuf Jimoh Itopa has appealed to members of the State Chapter of Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA, to cast their votes for him as the group prepares to conduct election into its different positions.
Comrade Itopa who was a former Chief Press Secretary to the erstwhile Deputy Governor of Kogi is a foundation member of the Association in the state.
Speaking to Journalists in Lokoja, Itopa called on members to repose confidence in him because as one of the Pioneer members of ANA he has over the years familiarize himself with the entire gamut of the fibre that ANA is, the quality and qualification that he believed had armed and could help him to turn the Association around for the good of its members and the people of Kogi State especially the literate, writing and reading Community.
Itopa, a Poet, Journalist, Media Administrator and a Graduate of Theatre Art from University of Ibadan, promised that as Chairman of the Association, he would hoist and fly the flag of a collective, transparent, accountable and a rigorous intellectual leadership.
He said “a lonely tree, no matter how huge, lush and imperial – it proclaims itself to be – can never make a forest,” promising that he would always work with all members if given the opportunity to lead
The election is scheduled to hold on Friday, 30th of May, 2025 at the premises of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lokoja.
